Mandø

Mandø is a small island situated in the Danish Wadden Sea.
The only access to the island is by a gravel road, which normally is flooded twice a day. Driving to the island in your own car is possible during low tide, for which reason it always has to be arranged with us beforehand. Today, only around 50 people live permanently on Mandø. You will experience an amazing nature – ideal for hiking and bicycle trips.

Swimming in the ocean is possible, yet the island does not have any beaches. During the high season it is possible to participate on trips to the sandbar Koresand. On Koresand you will find excellent beaches, from where it is possible to take a swim and perhaps find some amber. On Koresand you can also see a large settlement of seals very upfront. On Mandø there is a little grocer’s shop, an inn, as well as a café/restaurant at the Mandø Centre. During the high season there is a public tractor bus with daily departures to and from the mainland.
